Reverse Engineering for Legacy & Critical Systems
Our service enables clients to recreate PCB design and documentation from physical board samples, supporting repair, maintenance, and redesign of obsolete or undocumented boards without requiring full system replacement.
➤ Required Information to Start Project
- At least one complete PCB sample
- Available BOM list (if any)
- Marked or identified key components
- Board specifications: size, layers, thickness, surface finish
- Expected timeline and required output format
➤ Comprehensive Deliverables
- Gerber Files for PCB fabrication
- Schematic Diagram reconstruction
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- PCB Fabrication Drawing
- Assembly Drawing (if required)
- Testing & Verification Report (optional)
➤ Structured Engineering Process
- Receive & Pre-Inspection (1–2 days)
- Reverse Engineering Process (14–21 days typical)
- Repair Phase (7–14 days if required)
- Documentation & Preparation (2–3 days)
- Validation & Testing (2–7 days)
- Final Delivery (1–5 days)
Estimated total duration: 14–21 days (Reverse Engineering only) or 35–42 days (Repair + Reverse Engineering). Timeline subject to board complexity.
➤ Key Benefits
- Maintain existing system footprint and functionality
- Extend life of obsolete or discontinued hardware
- Reduce cost by avoiding full system redesign
- Faster turnaround compared to developing new complex systems
➤ Technical Limitations & Considerations
- Maximum PCB fabrication support up to 64 layers
- Obsolete components without replacement may limit repair feasibility
- No available Gerber, BOM, or schematic increases project complexity
- Highly complex boards require prior inspection before confirmation
➤ Programmable IC Consideration
A programmable IC (Integrated Circuit) is a chip such as a microcontroller or FPGA that can be configured after manufacturing using firmware or logic programming. Some devices contain security or lock bits that permanently disable memory reading or reprogramming. If these protection features are activated, reverse engineering or firmware extraction may not be possible.
➤ Industrial Applications & Project Experience
- Thyristor Card – Heater Control Panel (Oil & Gas, 2024–2025)
- DTCU Card – Power Generation Systems (2025)
- Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Boards
